birds of a feather

This summer I made a large painting of the robin that was on Lene’s birth announcement. Rose got kind of jealous and has been asking me over and over when I am finally going to make ‘her’ bird. So today, I finally made time. I’m not one 100% satisfied with the result (the eye being too big and the legs too small), but I hope she’ll like it when she gets home…

It was my first time working on such a grand scale (2m-1m) and I liked it, really relaxing (yet stressful at the same time 🙂
I did the girls’ birds in Ecoline drawing ink (my favourite for colouring) and added details in pencil and crayon (both oil & pastel)

I don’t know why, but I really like drawing birds…

And I love sketching with my red & blue pencil.
